An event geared towards young adults and college-aged students who are seeking to learn more about how they can get involved in local and state governments will take place at the Tennessee State Capitol in Nashville later this week.
Young Conservatives Day on the Hill is set for this Friday from 1:00-4:00 p.m. inside the House chambers at the State Capitol for individuals aged 17-27.
The event will feature guest speakers, including former Tennessee Speaker of the House Beth Harwell, State Senator Mark Pody (R-Lebanon), and local talk show host Matt Murphy, who hosts The Matt Murphy Show on SuperTalk 99.7 WTN.
Attire for the event is business casual.
In addition to students and young adults learning how they can get involved within their local or state government, the event will also provide attendees with information on how they can “make a positive impact in their communities.”
Further, attendees may also discover potential employment opportunities through networking with legislators, speakers, and fellow young leaders at the event.
“This is a great opportunity for young leaders and college students to network and hear from an impressive lineup of speakers about their role in local and state governments and how they can take action now,” State Senator Pody said.
Those interested in attending the free event this Friday are encouraged to fill out an interest form so organizers can gauge attendance.
